William AraizaDallas Family Law & Divorce Lawyer
Founding attorney of Araiza Law, William (Bill) Araiza is committed to helping individuals and families through the most difficult situations in their lives. His primary focus is on family law, including divorce, custody, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, property division, support, and visitation. He firmly believes that persistenceis one of the most important traits a parent can apply in a divorce or other family law case, and applies this principle to his practice as well. He is passionate, practical, and persistent in his representation of his clients.
Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Bill moved to Texas soon after graduating high school to attend the University of Texas at Austin. He deferred his entry into UT to join the Army in Desert Storm, where he was trained as an Army Medic. He earned his certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and his license with the National Registry of EMTs.
When the conflict in Iraq deescalated and his experience on active duty came to an end, Bill attended UT as planned and, while working full time, earned degrees in History and Government. He then went on to attend SMU Dedman School of Law. At law school, Bill worked as a student-attorney in the Poverty-Law Clinic. His time at SMU strengthened his commitment to helping others.
Initially after graduating law school, Bill worked as a medical malpractice attorney, helping patients and families harmed as a result of medical negligence. He also expanded his practice into other arenas and found his calling in the courtroom, representing clients in the areas of family law, civil litigation, and criminal defense. Today, Bill focuses primarily on family law. He truly believes in his clients’ causes and fights tirelessly to help them improve their lives, even in the most challenging situations.
In addition to working as a family lawyer, Bill is a husband, father of two boys, cook, coach, and marathon/endurance sports enthusiast.
